Eligible Educational Institutions and Applicants

Educational Institutions	Educational institutions as stipulated by law, such as universities, technical colleges, high schools, vocational colleges, etc. In additions, any institutions Live2D Inc. acknowledges as an educational institution. (e.g. A proven full-time equivalent educational program specializing in games, video or illustration.) In addition, club or other extracurricular activities centered around games, video or illustration that are conducted under the guidance of faculty of an educational institution as defined above.
Applicant	The applicant must belong to the eligible educational institution and be in a position to submit the application on its behalf.

* Even applicants that meet the above conditions may not be considered an eligible institution or applicant for this program. Live2D Inc. may determine if an applicant qualifies as an eligible institution at its sole discretion.

* Agreement to the terms of the "Educational Institution Support Program Agreement" on the LEAP application form is required. The details of the Program Agreement can be found in the form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are vocational schools eligible for the program?: This program is intended for Institutions legally defined as Educational Institutions by laws of the country in which Applicant Institution is established including University, Technical college, Junior college, High school and Professional school., and Institutions recognized as Educational Institutions by Live2D Inc., therefore private sector or non-official vocational schools and educational service providers are ineligible for this program.
What is meant by “Courses, curricula, or classes and the like that prominently feature the term "Live2D" in their main descriptive text and make this information publicly available.”?: To inform outside parties (e.g. students interested in learning about Live2D) that your organization offers an educational program featuring Live2D, please include the word "Live2D" when describing the program on your website, in print materials, etc.
Are there any other agreements that must be complied with in addition to the “Educational Institution Support Program Agreement”?: Users must comply with the terms outlined in the "Software License Agreement" to use Cubism Editor. When using Live2D Inc.’s sample data in classes etc., users must also comply with the terms outlined in the "Free Material License Agreement" and the "Terms of Use for Live2D Cubism Sample Data". Some works may require users to agree and comply with additional terms or agreements, so please contact us if you are unsure about anything.

Does the software have to be used under the supervision of a faculty member for club activities ?: A faculty member does not need to be present during club activities, but the status of student and faculty computers with loaned licenses for Live2D Cubism Editor must be tracked and managed.
Can works created with loaned Live2D Cubism licenses be published off-campus?　Can works created with loaned Live2D Cubism licenses be entered into contests (including those with prizes)?: Works can be published provided they are for "non-commercial use". Please refer to section 1.12 of the Software License Agreement for the definition of "non-commercial" and section 2.1.4.4 for stipulations regarding the purpose of the provided Live2D Cubism Editor licenses and usage of output files.

Live2D Education Aid Program (LEAP) User Testimonials

Free Cubism Editor PRO licenses will be leased to eligible educational institutions in accordance with the details of their application.
Educational institutions may use the loaned licenses for their own practice, education and training purposes.
To date, more than 450 educational institutions and programs and approximately 48,000 student users have provided with free Cubism Editor PRO licenses through this program. (*As of March 2025)
